Brendan Bayliss, Marc Brownstein, Karina Rykman and Mike Finoia Added to Cap 100 Celebration

On Saturday, September 19, the Capitol Theatre will celebrate its 100 year anniversary. The Port Chester, NY venue originally opened on August 18, 1926 with a sold-out screening of Sea Wolf with the soundtrack by a ten-piece orchestra. Architect Thomas Lamb designed the venue, which long served as a motion picture palace and playhouse.

The facility has long since added live musical performance to its wheelhouse and Pink Talking Fish will lead the commemoration of the venue's 100th birthday. The quartet will serve as the Centennial Band and will be joined by Robert Randolph, moe.’s Al Schnier and Vinnie Amico, Goose drummer Cotter Ellis, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong’s Greg Ormont and Alex Petropulos, Andy Frasco, Kanika Moore, Sammi Garrett, Jeremy Kaplan and The Gotham Horns, a three piece horn section led by Matt Wayne.

Some additional musicians have just been added to the festivities as well. The Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein will appear with PFT and also will spin a pre-show set in Garcia’s as DJ Brownie. In addition Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Brendan Bayliss, bassist Karina Rykman and comedian Mike Finoia all will participate. BERTHA: Grateful Drag, will open the festivities, with tickets now on sale.
