Janus Films and Criterion have acquired the North American rights to Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall, a new concert film documenting the Geese frontman’s sold-out solo performance at the famed New York venue in December of 2025. The film was directed and shot on 35mm and 16mm film by filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another) and the music was recorded and produced for the film and previously announced live album by Grammy-winning music producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Vampire Weekend, Adele). Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall is being co-produced by filmmaker and actor Benny Safdie (The Smashing Machine) and produced by Sara Murphy, Erica Frauman and Maggie Ambrose. Both Anderson and Safdie were spotted filming at the Carnegie Hall show, leading to rumors that they were working on a concert film.
An exclusive North American 35mm tour of Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall begins on November 20. The prints will be made by Fotokem in Los Angeles, supervised by the filmmakers.
The initial tour dates and locations can be found below, with more cities to be announced in the coming weeks.
As previously reported, Winter will release a live album drawn from the concert via Partisan Records/Play It Again Sam om October 9. In related news, Geese paid tribute to Dolly Parton on Tuesday night while performing at Glasgow, Scotland’s Barrowland. During “2122,” a song from 3D Country where they band regularly riffs on different covers, Winter held up his phone and played a bit of the singer’s “‘Here You Come Again.”
